I'm trying to find out what amp fuses I need for my gauges. They are the round glass type. Where can I find this information?

gauges are not normally fused, what are you trying to fix?

I suspect he means the ignition fuses... But you're right... good call.

achris , heres a tip to check the advanced timing marks on a harmonic balancer.normally the damper goes CCW with rpm and the mark disappears. But if you paint 3 white dots from the original damper groove clockwise and advance the rpm the actual timing mark goes CCW and the dots will approach the 0 mark. So if you initally set the groove at 8 BTDC and bring up the rpm your dots are 10 degrees apart the midway distance between the 2nd and 3rd dot should be approaching the 0 part of the timing tab , this indicates your initial 8 plus approx 22 degrees of advance.

Fantastic... Great idea.... I've heard of timing tape, and a few other ideas like that...

I have the ultimate though ;), an advance timing light.... Just press the button until the timing marks line up to 0, then read the advance off the dial. :D

But, nevertheless, a really good idea for people without the fancy tools....

Thanks......

someday when the fancy tools just stop working you now know how to set and check the advanced timing

My boat has fuses for the horn, blower, pump, lights etc! They are mounted under the steering wheel! The guy before me didn't give two ****s about the boat so I want to make sure all fuses are correct! Not trying to fix anything. I just want correct amp/watt fuses installed.

Each fuse size will be determined by the maximum current draw of each device (plus about 50% for 'inrush'). You need to find that out before specifying a fuses size....

thinking your about 18-20 ft so you shouldnt have that much electrical. horns, blowers, bilge pumps can run up to 20A.
nav lighting, cockpit, deck lighting is around 10A .radio 5A
If you know how to use a multimeter in amps mode hook the meter leads across the fuse holder and read the amps being used and add a bit for surge.
