The amount of misinformation and dock rumour in this thread is staggering. There is a mountain of research and documentation on ethanol fuels and their use in the marine environment. The facts are a lot less exciting than anything in this thread. Maybe that's why all this inaccurate hearsay is so much more popular.
Here is a site that has a lot of info in one place. Give it a look and then make a determination. http://www.fuel-testers.com/index.html
Not sure if this is a statement or a question. If its a question, its an easy one...its because ethanol in this country is government subsidised...at least the corn used to produce it is.We could also import a butt load of ethanol from Brazil, but our congress won't allow it. Wonder why?
I use that site for information at times, but you need to remember, that site was developed to sell you stuff, not to just to inform you about E-10, they have an agenda just like everyone else.
BTW did you know you can deduct the amount of road tax you pay for boat or "Off road" gas? The road tax is for roads and any gas used for non road applications is not taxable. It can be quite a bit if you use a lot of pump gas for your boat. Makes me winder why marina gas is so much more since there should not be any road tax added to it. Oh yeah, it's rip off.
