On the rotted bulkhead, use a big holesaw to cut out the rotten spots and use the same holesaw to cut replacement plugs to glass back in

so cut out a circle bigger then the drain/rot then replace the "circle" with new one and glass it in?
even though i can only get to one side of it?

Sounds good, ill do that while im doing my deck patch.

when using the holesaw, if there is a skin on the backside, you can preserve it by not quite cutting all the way through and prying out the wood with an Appalachian multi tool (screwdriver)

Ah ha, good idea. I belive there is a skin on one side.... its like "bildge paint" or w/e that stuff is.
Ill do that, cut it out before skin, replace wood, glass in. Gotcha.

And BTW...just think a free ride in a BAYLINER is better then paying for your I/O's gas all day!
If it makes ya feel any bettter i can bring my 9.9 Evinrude as a kicker J.I.C... haha

Your a fast responder smoke... your on here as much as I am....hehe :D

I dont have a "its junk and gonna fall apart attitude"....more like " IS IT JUNK and gonna falll apart " lol

Ya pretty much me too, if she floats.... take her fishin!

Hey i have a question...If I were to pull a tube with this boat, I wuold use the two hooks on transom.
Is there any chance these could rip out and break transom (= sinking) lol

Prolly would be ok if i can hook ratchet straps to these and tighten without the hooks moving right?

Holy cow i just read you thread on the big ol' WELLCRAFT...
sound like you have had your hands full! How on earth did you et rid of that gigantic junk hull when you were done?

Where i am, that would cost 2 billion $$ in dump fees! haha
Im gonna check out your other threads on the smaller WELLCRAFT now.

well if ur talking about the one I just got, I haven't dumped it yet but the 27'er that I got w the trailer a couple years ago cost me $43 at the landfill. .... Prolly not much more for this one...

Chances are pretty good that the stern eyes are plenty solid for a tube... most of them a solid enough to lift the boat

Wow!! i called last week about bringing some "household" trash and they told me $56!!
i almost had a heart attack! i had a 19 ft junker hull one time and could never find how to dispose of it. I left it at a rental property
at a freinds house when he got evicted lol

And ok i was just checking on the hooks, if there is any chance of it being weak i didnt wanna do it. So i was JW.

This boat should turn out decent when im done, i dont think ill have a problem getting $1500-$2000 for it when im done.
i only paid $350 for the boat/trailer/motor. Of course ya gotta dump money into them, but im still only at about $550.
I have all the materials for the floor, all i have left to do is carpet, and vinyl panels recover and new wood.
Then get it running.

The engine has great compression, very clean looks to have minimum hours on it. but does have cracked coil packs
I am winning bidder on ebay for a used set of 2 coils for $22.50! Auctions ending in a couple hours.

Someone had mentioned non skid floor instead of carpet, im just gonna use this vey thin (easy to dry out) carpet from lowes.
And im gonna tack it down with waterproof spray adhesive, so if it ever needs to come up, it will without ruining carpet.

This carpet has a 4 year warranty and is gurenteed against fading, UV etc.
The vinyl however, i cannot find locally for less then $22 a linear yard.
So any ideas yall have used would be great.

I know im getting a bit random now.... please excuse me

the landfill I go to has a minimum charge plus $x per ton... a single bag of trash would be something like $37 but you are paying the minimum plus 1 ton.... a second ton isn't much more... they want to discourage constant inflow of cars with a bag or two

Ill keep that in mind, but hopefully unless i get a parts boat...i dont wanna be visitiing the dump with any of my hulls :blue:

P.S 38 mins left on EBAY auction for these coils....wish me luck! haha
they sell new for $135 ea. Im hoping to buy these two at current bid of $22.50! :D

Smoke, Im jealous...:cold:

I wish I have half the luck you had on that V20!
Thats one sweet wave jumper!
You didnt have any rot issues with it?
Wellcrafts are a very good built boat IMO.
I had a 17 fter from the 70's that was solid as a rock!
Had a newer 90 hp yamaha on it It was prolly my favorite boat ive had yet.

And that "tower of power" engine was once known as "bullet proof"
Ive heard stories of someone running straight gas through one on accident.
Not relizing until after it made it home. still had 175 psi all cyl!

That was a great deal you got! Sure doesnt usually happen like that! (at least in my world)

Thx.... I'm hoping to get back on the project soon.

You'd like my latest buy too.

A 25' regal 250xl very badly rotted and totally stripped of every valuable part.
It is sitting on a 7000 lb tandem ezloader full roller trailer.

Paid, no bs here, $75 for it. All told after dumping boat and a new fender on the trailer I'm looking at having under $200 in a $750 trailer.

WOW great find!
what are you planning to use it for?
You have just the 3 boats in your sig?
I loved my ezroller i had on my 19 fter. They are great, especially in low tide loading.
