I would not be surprised if that floor drain consisted of nothing more than the drain with a 55 gallon steel drum under it with no bottom in it. Might be half full of water all the time.
If the room is air tight the air and moisture is going no where. Just around in circles.
Remember, water is never destroyed, it just changes from a solid to a liquid that you can see, to a vapor you do not see.

Still not destroyed, just seperated into hydrogen and oxygen molecules that can recombine into water again if not collected and contained seperately.
???
If something ceases to exist, you don't refer to that as being destroyed?
"Hey, the atom bomb did not destroy Nagasaki, after all, we can find the pieces and reassemble it."

(Please forgive the sarcasm.)

cold storage room floor is concrete.

no problems with it in the past.

drain dies not have a water trap by the look of it, the other drain I felt wind blow in when we were setting up the unit.

odds are, thats what it is, wind blowing through that hole.

the house is located on top of a small hill and all drains go underground, even the evesthrough downspouts. no idea where it goes from there
