Forgive me if this is a dumb question. I have some repairs to do to my trailer...new rollers and while im at it I want to paint it. How would I get the boat off the trailer in my yard? Any ideas? Pictures? I assume I have to make some kind of brace system? Thanks for the help for a newbie.

You should just look for a place that will drystack it for a month. I have seen it done in the driveway and it is a nasty propostion at best very nerve wracking and dangerous. Also
it is not getting it off the trailer it is getting it back on.

ph makes a good case for drydocking it, but maybe that is not an option for you? I do not think it is all that dangerous , if you know what you are doing. There are many ways to skin a cat, btw...

Not being snarky here, but try the search function up in the toolbar above^

There are so many ways to go about doing what you are wanting to do. Here is just one way I have found that works, with what I have laying about...

Do you have a big floor jack? Some 2x4s? Some rugged sawhorses? a big beam of some sort? If so, jack up the stern of the boat, 1 side at a time and support the corners with some cribbing of suitable size.

Then, put yer sawhorses on either side of the bow, jack up the bow until you can get the beam under it, supporting the bow with the beam. Padding is good.:) Sorry, no pics, but there are some in the link attached of other solutions.

Then, pull the trailer out from underneath and go to work on it. :)

Easy Answer.... LOL

Back the boat/trailer up to a big tree or fence. Raise the motor all the way up. Tie a big rope (sorry, I meant Line) around the boat and motor.

Get in the truck or car and start the engine... Give it all the gas u can, then shift into drive. The boat should come right off......

Getting it back on the trailer after the trailer repairs is another subject.

A small crane might help with that.....

Sorry, I'm being a smart a**

Steve

Back her up to a tree and tie off with the stern eyes. Pull forward until about 18" of the aft end of the boat is free of the bunks. Stack cinder blocks under each side to the chines, cover with carpet. Continue pulling forward until just forward of midships is clear of the bunks. Repeat cinder block process. Now pull clear and un-tie line to bow eye. Piece of cake, done it a bunch of times...
