Thank u for the info i ended u i ended up cutting mine offHad the same issue I tackled this morning on a Volvo Penta SX-M. Took a few hours, used my bearing puller, PB blaster, and heat to get it off. My work bench also helped give me some leverage. See attached pics.

Thanks for the tip, I’ll be sure to do this when I reinstall my outdrive this weekend.When you install the drive: the o-rings on the
shaft need grease but grease them after they
get put on the shaft.
Grease under the o-ring can lift the o-ring and
can make it hard to install.
