i needed to go get more resin so i went to a marine store to check prices compared to on-line.
Now, speaking to the parts guys and tech's that work marine for a living. Full service marine store.
I was discussing the resin and glassing the deck and what a mess the first part was. now i was buying $30 worth of matt, in hand. they talked me out of neding glass for the deck. all i need is the resin/poly that had the right amount of hardner for this size resin. it was $16...i told them about the cracking issues and what the general rule is here.....yes, it will crack, but it will take a long time, not worth adding the glass compared to how long it will take to crack away, especially if painting afterwards. which is the plan.
i'm going with no glass and the material i put on today looks awsome and really soaked into the ply. they even recommended PT ply
so i put the glass back on the shelf and saved the 30 to go towards nice interlux bottom paint.
what do you think of my choice or wil i know for myself next year when i need to re-do the deck?
thanks for opinions.
