Re: Good Boat names

Thought I'd chime in on this subject. I'm putting back together my '69 Chrysler Valiant that was bought off of ebay about 13 mos. ago after a refurbishment. As a born and bred Husker fanatic and with the red/white theme of the boat my first choice for a name was "Lil' Red". (she's a little 14' runabout) However, my wife and son discussed the matter with me and since my wife and I paid for the boat/motor/trailer originally by emptying/counting out our five gallon change jug (rolling close to $250.00 in various change!!) we decided on the name "Spare Change". True story...:D

Re: Good Boat names

My Dad's Princecraft pontoon boat is called "Gentle Ben", named for my grandfather who is no longer with us. My grandpa owned several boats and had many misadventurers with them for nearly his entire life.

My current boat (in my avatar) is named "Boomba", although not officially dubbed yet. Boomba is what my youngest son called it back when I had my eye on it and eventually bought it. He was three at the time and just didn't know how to make his mouth start a word with the letter "M".

Re: Good Boat names

Huskerdaninva I like your story.

We have had our boat for 2yr's now and have not come up with a good name. Since I have read this forum it has got me thinking??????????????
Speaking of true a story. I have a family of 4 kids when ever we go some where they ask us were are we going? We will say "Crazy Town". So I think that is the name.

I also liked
"Cool Drink"
"Good Timer"
"Get Wet"

Re: Good Boat names

Just bought a 1986 Wellcraft 23 Nova XL w/trailer......thanks to my cousin that found it and inquired about it.....it sat for over a year in the same spot....awesome deal.......just needed a good scrubbing/buffing and transom boot kit!!!

Took me all of 15 minutes to decide on the name..(as you can tell from my nic)...when I leave a party or get together......my phrase to say good bye.......Time to Turn-n-Burn!!!

By the way......I love the forum.....a big help where to look for trouble spots before buying....thanks to all!!!

Another name I would consider:

Rockin' My Knots Off

Re: Good Boat names

My old ski boat that i had for 15 yrs was AFRICAN QUEEN because , well she was kinda a beat up old tub that was very dependable. My last boat of 7 yrs was an 89 19 runabout with horrible interior that I bought for $100 and i spent a little $$ making her very dependable but she was butt ugly and very dull and as mentioned with horrible interior. She was the SS P.O.S. because that's what she looked like.

Re: Good Boat names

a brother in law called my first boat a piece of crap so henceforth she was called "stoole sample".
my second boat we named "water boardin" for obvious reasons.
