Worked all summer on my 20' beater CC, then the J150.
Finally got it in the water this Friday, park the truck and see its sitting very low, remember the plug and jumped in the back, can't reach down so jump in the water and finally get it in. 2 feet of water in the bilge and its within 1/4 inch of the transom, get the pump going , water is at least 10 feet deep where I am, can't haul it out because the ramp is busy.
After 30 minutes the bilge is doing better, cellphone is in my pocket, thats toast.
Start the engine and delighted it runs a LOT better in the water than on muffs.
We stayed within paddle distance of the ramp and tested the engine , opened it up for 2 seconds and almost fell backwards,
gee these things go fast.!!
Only had 4 gals of fuel so we kept very close eye on it but ran 1/2 hr with just a couple of WOT tests, mostly just puttered around.
Very happy with the way it runs.
Hauling it out, I put the trailer in too deep, it didn't center too well on the trailer but did on the way home, after hearing a bang I was able to tighten the transom strap on one side.
Anyone wanna go offshore, I think I got the hang of this stuff now.
Note to self; put new cellphone in sealed baggy in console.
Good news is croc's float but I coulda ran faster in sneakers.
