I discovered that the login name is case sensitive. I kept trying Boatbuoy with no luck. I then tried BoatBuoy and it worked, with the password that was current.

Found another possible name change place. On the "Console" (User area) there is a button for Edit Profile. In there you can change the displayed name . . . Bummer is it already says QC . . . ???

QC, go to your user area and clcik on nick name.
Then enter your log in name and then your nick that you want to use and the click on save.
After that, all your post should have the new nick on them.

I changed my name it still says derwoodjr! ! ! !!

the new emoticons suck, I hate clowns :/:/ <<<what the heck is that?? it is like a frowning upset dorky emoticon??

I have already done that it only changes it on your screen not everyone elses.

Anybody beside myself here into old movies? This upgrade on I-boats reminds me of an old WC Fields movie, I believe it was called the bank ****.W.C. Fields was walking down the street and he saw a woman with here hood open, being the proper gentleman he stopped to assets. After looking under the hood for awhile, he says Aaa Yess heres the problem just needs a little tweeking,and immediately the motor falls on the ground. So W.C.tips his hat and say good day mam.:%

Yeah Spinner, I haven't tried that approach yet. I saw your previous suggestion, but if you read it that area is to change the nickname you would see of others, not yourself . . . For example if I wanted your to always appear as Spinner, I could do that, but I think it would just be for my eyes. BTW, what the heck would a lowly Cadet know anyway?

And another thing, what the heck is the deal where it kicks you back to the first page after posting a reply in the last page. And the original post on top makes it look like you're always at the first page . . . Maybe we should change this thread's name to "Helpful hints and positive suggestions about the new look and feel"?

To change your username, please enter a new username in the box below. This must be a unique username, not already in use by another member. Note that your change will have to be approved by the admin before it takes effect. All your existing posts will be updated to show the new username.

Did you not do the change name thing and are waiting on approval?
Check to see if it's been approved yet under the name change location again. It will tell you if it has or not and then you can go to the nickname location to set heycods up.

This username change request has already been approved/denied, probably by another admin.

techno, when you logged in, you used your username to do that.
That is different than your screen name if you want it to be.
First you have to get in your user area and click on change name.
That will take you to a spot where you can enter the new name. You will enter it again and click ok or whatever it says there and it will have to be approved by the admin, we mods can not do it.
After it has been approved, then you go to the nick name area of your user area and enter the name you want to show up on the screen, enter it again and click save.
Then all post you have made will show up as your new screen name.

I know that sounds like a lot, but it ain't really.

They sent me an e-mail saying someone was trying to change my user name. So I just let it ride this way till things arent in such a rush then I`ll give it a try.

I give up this new software is not Mac friendly!!!

I also need a life, all I can think about is the horror of loosing my Sloopy name and my dock boy designation!!! Plus my awesome post count. Btw does this nre software have the date joined?

1. Go to the MY USER AREA right under where you see your log in name (upper right side of page).

2. Go to the nickname icon and follow the on screen instuctions.

Part of the log in and screen user name issues, as I see it, is that some of you have more than one screen name and you are logged in under one that you don't use much.

If you look at the area that asks if you forgot your password, you can enter your email address and it will give you all of your screen names and a new password that you can later change.

Im in the software biz. I know about converts. So ya all quit yer bitchin. Its the same old crap everyone goes through wth new software. Just looks like iboats is takeing a bigger screwing than the average joe. Plus, think how much revenue they are losing from first time visitors who are not going to buy from them because of this cluster f**k of a software convert....

Just tell them what the problems you find are without emotion so they can get them fixes ASAP. Yelling and bitching just makes it harder to get to the point of your problem.
