You CAN change your shown screen name by using your old, or a new nickname. See below.1. Go to the MY USER AREA right under where you see your log in name (upper right side of page).
2. Go to the nickname icon and follow the on screen instuctions.
Part of the log in and screen user name issues, as I see it, is that some of you have more than one screen name and you are logged in under one that you don't use much.
If you look at the area that asks if you forgot your password, you can enter your email address and it will give you all of your screen names and a new password that you can later change.
MAKE SURE AND USE THE CHANGE NICKNAME icon, NOT the change screen name icon.
