Correct me If Im wrong, I just want to be sure. When you get water in cylinders the cause can be 1.bad/cracked intake. 2.bad exhaust/risers 3. water comming back into the exhaust. To CMA Im planning to replace the intake and exhaust manifolds elbows and risers. Long story..
Thanks

My fault..I have a 1976 wellcraft nova 250 offshore with twin GM 5.7s I thought the water problem might be because the exhaust are close to the water line. That theory fell apart when I started the boat in the driveway with the water hose on the outdrives and manged to get water in the oil.Only in one motor... Thanks again

The Motors are Mercs Chevy blocks, with the alpha outdrives. As far as the blocks being cracked. They have less than 4hours on them...

Ayuh,......

And it Only takes a couple of hours at Freezing Temps to Crack'em........

Drain the Block,........
Block off the cooling system of the Block,+ Pressurize it with Air,.. 15/20psi is enough,.....

You'll Hear where it's Leaking.........

I am no expert, but water in the oil is not exactly the same as water in the cylinders. With a fresh motor, water in a cylinder shouldn't be leaking past the rings into the oil, should it?

So which do you have water in the cylinders, water in the oil, or both?
