1997 3.0 LX Merc.
Starts in 2 second cold...runs very good (idle's around 900 in the water in neutral, but am going to fix that before next trip out) but when the engine is warm, and I shut it off...it does not want to start. This has happened all 3 trips we've had her out. Today, we ran up the lake about a mile, shut it off, and then a 3 minutes later I tried to start it. It wouldn't start. After numerous attempts I think it may be flooded so i wait 15 minutes and try again. Wouldn't fire.
Wait 30 minutes, wouldn't fire.
I finally try a 3rd time and push the throttle lever down "hard" (I put a decent amount of pressure on lever) and it starts to fire, and started.
Does this sound like a cable adjustment issue? Maybe an electronic choke issue?
Any and all help is certainly appreciated. If it's a cable adjustment, I'll try that before taking it to the mechanic.
