They look the same as what I used. I have two of them on the boat. Easy to install and no worrys of filament breaks.

If you're wondering about light output, I think they would be okay. Our boat came new with round yellow LEDs (bow, stern, live wells and rod locker). They don't put out the broadest light, but they are certainly better than nothing. Of course, the darker it is, the better the lights appear to work. But I'm not sure I'd expect to see a big improvement in visibility if in dim natural ambient lighting conditions. If my Dad were still here he'd say, "Like a Model T Ford, you need a match to see if the headlights are on!"

One nice thing about them is they draw little juice from the battery.

Tashasdaddy,

Yea I use those same ones. They work very well. Pretty bright too. I can grab some pics tonight to give you an idea on brightness if you want.

On my 16ft Grumman I have 3 of them.
Boatonerie.jpg

One by my fire extinguisher, one in the opposite corner in the front, and one 12led model mounted behind the rear bench shining on the battery, motor, tach, and fuel tank.

My only complaint on them, well it's more of an advisement not a complaint. They can cause some glare. Where I have my mounted is under the doors for my storage compartments.

when the door is closed they, the door covers the top of these lights so I get a indirect light. Very nice. If the door is open you can see the top of the lights and can cause some glare. But also helps see inside the compartments. Keep in mind I'm using white LED's.

I'll grab some pics tonight.

The white are plenty bright for my needs (fishing) and when I add two to the other side might go with red, such that it does not effect my night vision.

Thanks Bill.
I'd be interested in seeing these pics.
I've contemplated some additional courtesy lighting on my 'Ray.
I just haven't found anything I liked.
This could be the ticket.

ok gang. Sorry took a few days. I've been stupid busy with work.

PLease excuse the mess, I took her out today and when I got back it was raining and wind was blowing so I didn't have time to cover her up, hence the leaves and water.

The two light uo front are the 6led versions. The one across the back is a 12 Led version. I tried to pick exposure times that would give acurate light levels. They are pretty close. Remember everything inside the boat is dark, and wet right now.

Sorry for the blurryness, it was cold ad raining.

Forgot to add with these three going I'm drawing less than half an amp (.412 to be exact.) not too shabby for 3 lights going.

Well, I added them over the weekend, and finally got to see them at night. I put in 6 blue, 2 in the bow seating area, 2 for the consoles, and 2 for the rear seating. They look totally cool! Only one pic came out good, but here it is:

Are you getting only the blue? For that price, I'd get a couple sets of different colors. :D Let's see a pic when you've got them installed.

I just went and got some amber rectangular led truck clearance lights. Cheap, worked out very well.

The amber is nice for nightime.

Beefer, I love the look of those blue lights. I've got courtesy lights installed but thought of adding a few more or possibly swapping them for those. My boat is all blue accent, those would look really sharp.

Can't wait for spring to get back in the boat:(

Thanks! I was totally stoked when I turned them on for the first time in the dark. They really look great, and were easy to install. Note to self: Switches can be non-functional right out of the box, so my wiring isn't always the problem.

Oh, and you should move to Florida, it's always boating season! :D
