I've been watching some of the youtube videos of boats going through Haulover and other inlets. The types of boats seem to be either CC fishing boats, large (40+) cruisers and yachts, and quite a few small open-bow speed boats.
I rarely see small 25 to 30 ft. express cruisers going thru these inlets. Is there some reason those types of boats are not suited to traveling out to open water? As the owner of a Sea Ray 270, I'm curious why I seldom see boats of that size in the videos. It seems like they would be capable of taking their owners out for some ocean fishing, and would be better suited to passing the inlets than many of the small trailerables.
Any ideas?
