Oh by the way,
Which one is Pink?

I have to says The Wall but Echo is awesome too because it put together all the parts for song that have multiple parts, i.e. Shine on You Crazy Diamond part 1-12. That's the ultimate mellower, I could be raging mad but after hearing all 12 parts I would be all peachy again.

Oh yeah, I saw Roger Waters 2 months ago on his Dark Side of the Moon tour. The first set was mix of stuff from the Wall and Wish You Were Here. The second set was straight Dark Side, it was absolutely amazing.

Obscured by clouds.
Meddle.

My twenty one year old son gave me a remake of Dark side of the moon if you can believe it is done to a reggae sound, my first thought without hearing it was blasphemy but it's a fantastic disc.

It's called Dub side of the moon. The band got permission from Waters & Gilmour to do this recording all I can say that if you like P.F. and reggae check it out, it's by The easy star all stars. This band has also done other reggae remakes...like Radiodread. Worth a listen.

I would agree, they are all worthy of my listening time.

So rather, I will give you a favorite song. In honor of the late Syd Barrett, I select;

"Shine On You Crazy Diamond."

Re: Have a Favorite Pink Floyd Album?

DSOTM for 2 reasons (1) I was there when PF played it live, non-stop, heart beat to heart beat, complete with the DSOTM movie playing on a screen behind the band. Yes, there is a DSOTM movie, images that go with the audio!!!

But before they played DSOTM they opened with 3 new songs, Shine On You Crazy Diamond (it was originally another pf anthem like Echos, more to it than what is on the album), Sheep and Dogs for what would later become the Animals album. PF closed the show by playing the entire song, Echos with fog machines dumping fog for the whole 30 mins or so.

And (2) is because the original DSOTM tour was performed in multi-channel audio so Alan Parsons originally mixed the album’s sound effects in multi-channel for the tour, but then remixed it down to 2-ch stereo for the album. The SACD for DSOTM has those sound effects in their original multi-ch glory, just as they where when I heard them at that PF show in 1975. (Yeah, right…as if I could really remember … :) )

Re: Have a Favorite Pink Floyd Album?

Ya know, I have to say DSOTM as well, but I was struggling with this yesterday . . .

I really wanted to say Meddle for two reasons: a) it's not the obvious choice and b) I am head over heels in love with Fearless. Always have been, and it is a great song to play on the guitar as well. I went to Real Rhapsody and I was reading the short review of Meddle while listening to Fearless and "what is perhaps the band's finest moment, "Fearless."
