So I pulled my boat out the other day, 1994 Bayliner Capri 1750CU cleaned it all up, hooked the ear muffs up to it and started her up. she ran great. We planned a trip to take her into the Connecticut River for a quick run just to test everything out. After it was launched my friend said that something didnt sound right with it. At first I didnt hear it until we shut it off and started it back up. when we are going at a slow speed, approximatly 5 knots, i could hear a whinning comming from the back of the boat. I was nervous as hell that it was the outdrive. When i leaned over the edge i can hear it whinning. I was leaning more towards maybe the shaft bearing. Then it also sounded like it was the outdrive running on no fluid. When I checked it it was full of fluid. I am guessing that the line on the dipstick on the top is full right? When we brought the boat back to my house I immediatly hooked it back up to the earmuffs and ran it. I ran the boat in forward and the noice was gone but there was still some kinda noise in the engine compartment, it was almost a very faint ping. The boat has pleanty of oil, good pressure, and the temp is dead on. Anyone have any suggestions what the whinning noise is?
