$2500 for an Islander with a running (albeit with issues) outboard is not too bad a deal. In near perfect condition that boat would be worth much more. I think you could get back out whatever $ you put into fixing her up. Good luck with your project.

Since ya have the deck up..And you will be tearing out the foam (its wet right?)

Might be a good time to apply some sealant to the rivets and seams, something like Gluv-it...May as well before you get the new deck down, just one more thing to give ya the warm & fuzzies that your boat is solid..

Need help identifying my boat. It's a 16' 5 passenger with a solid bow (the gas tank is in the bow) and solid windshield (not split). It's fiberglass. It has a 120hp Merc I/O. I've been told it's a '71 but I can't find anymore information on it. Any thoughts? Thanks...

Quick as I figure out how to work my kids digital camera I will post some pics....time to start a rebuild on mine...have 8k alotted for the job...heres the plan...

1. rebuild engine
2. new floors
3. paint boat mossyoak
4. install Black powder coated FishMaster t-top and new electronics
5. new Todd leaning post
6. go fishing

Yea man, it's wet. Starcraft when they originally did the foam ended up foaming shut all the channels they took time cutting out for water to flow through.

Also foamed in the ****ing gas tank too.. Pain to get out, but it's out.

I thought about bedliner for the inside of the hull but I like your product much better with the little bit of googling I did on it.

Warm and fuzzies is what it's all about. Thanks for the advice. Thanks for your build too. Do you feel like there's some do-dad or gadget you wish you had installed while you had the boat ripped apart like you did? I've been on the toilet forever now thinking of things and all I have come up with is livewells and a friggin raw water washdown

Thanks for the kind words...As far as do-dads or gadgets, honestly no,,,well maybe one..I was contemplating a 2nd bilge pump forward under the deck and have the hose run back to the bilge area for the main pump to take it out of the boat..Just for an extra sense of the fuzzies...Other than that..I have been thinking that I should have mounted a few LED lights on the wood port panel before I installed it in the boat...But nothing too serious...

I just want to splash this thing soon...But work is keeping me jumping through hoops for the next few weeks..

long time lurker avid boat fixer up guy! lol hey guys heres my next project! i just got rid of a 1980 18' starcraft supersport that i had gutted the interior and redone but i had a kid and it changed my priorities for a bit. but year and a half later got my bearings back and started looking again. found this gem sitting beside a gentlemans pole barn. this boat has sat uncovered for 12 years the guy bought the shorelander trailer in 1997 and put this boat on it and parked it right there!!! hasnt moved! he also added the cnc power tilt trim aftermarket. i went last saturday and spent a few hours prepping the engine to see if it could be brought back to life before i deciding on buying it. everything wokred great! i was a lil dumbfounded.... its like it was in a time capsule.... now now yes the interior is shot! but anyone with a eye can see the potential this is a 1977 22' starcraft super sport w/ 140 evinrude original motor!

im assuming its a super sport there are specs on this site that says they made on in 1977 so this has to be her i figure. i have to have the open bow for fishing purposes. ill take out the seating and put in a fishing deck up front

I have a starcraft and was wondering if you all could help me with the model. The plate is worn because it has been outside for countless years. It is a 16 ft tri hull with a 25 horse Chrysler outboard. it is fiberglass with a rounded bow and also has a built in live well. I can't tell you what the inside looks like because its is completely gutted. I do know that there are seat brackets still connected to the hull. any help would be grateful

Hello all. I am a new Starcraft owner. I have a 1970 Holiday 18'. It has been sitting since '84 and I am now beginning to restore it. It has been in my family since the showroom floor. My grandfather bought it new, passed it to my dad, who passed it along to me. It is in bad shape. Needs totally rebuilt, what are some good informational website to help me with this build? I hope to restore it as close to OEM as possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Just found this forum and really like what I see. I have a '99 Starcraft Starfire 17 DC that I purchased back in 2004. I had to get a boat that would provide family fun for everyone not just my fishing habit. I need to get my pics loaded up. My dad has a 1966 (I think) Starcraft that has been his since I was born and that was in '72. We still fish out of that boat to this day. You just can't beat 'em so buying my first boat was a no brainer to choose a Starcraft.
