Well I just just made the decision to get rid of my jetski and get back into a boat. Next week my wife and I will take delivery of a 2007 Sea Pro 195 Fish & Ski equipped with a Mercury 150 Verado. Hopefully I will get to spend some time on the central NC lakes as well as the coastal waters of Va and NC. Looks like ya'll got a nice place here.

Re: Hello!

Welcome to iboats BRR, these are some fine folks here on these forums. I see you are a 4 wheeler too. Probably see you around the trails or lakes some time.
I'm a member of carolina K5 forums and have had my own gun collecting forums online since 1997.

Congrats on the boat too!

Re: Hello!

Thanks for the welcome guys. I am definetly into the off-road scene. I am a staff member of the largest Suzuki 4x4 forum Zuwharrie.com and a hold memberships in The Southern Four Wheel Drive Association and The Blue Ribbon Coalition.

I grew up in Portsmouth, Virginia and spent may years fishing, crabbing and boating on The Elizabeth, James, ICW, and Chesapeake Bay. I moved to NC in 1993 and have continued to enjoy the water on the lakes here. I can be found on Hyco, Mayo, Gaston, Kerr (Buggs Island), Smith Mountain, Jordan and Falls Lakes.

Re: Hello!

I had a 2003 Sea Pro 190 DC w/ a 150 Yamaha. It was a well built boat with all stainless steel fittings. I don't care what anyone says...my experience with that Sea Pro convinced me it was as well built (if not better) than any of the higher priced Boston Whalers or comparable boats. Mine had the modified deep vee and could take a good sized swell. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I did mine. "Two more footitis" made me sell mine and sometimes I wish I still had it. It was a lot easier to maintain and dump in the river than what I have had since.

Of course, Brunswick has bought Sea Pro since I had mine. I hope they're still putting that quality into the boats.

Re: Hello!

I sure hope that Brunswick continued the quality too. This boat is the most expensive boat I have ever owned. It needs to last.

Re: Hello!

I'd imagine your Sea-Pro will do fine and last you for some time. I ran mine for hours at a time at cruise speed making trips down the Savannah River to the river front in Savannah, GA, and back to my favorite landing on the river (a good 5 hours, round-trip). She had a 53 gallon tank, if I remember correctly, so she had some decent range...and my 150 Yamaha was not a four-stroke. I also used her alot in salt water around the Beaufort, SC, area. She never missed a beat. She stayed dry as a bone even when raining. I thought that is was neat how Sea-Pro even designed the cup holders to drain out the scuppers rather than into the bilge. As I'm sure you already know, the outboard is the "big money" in the boat. That is the piece of the boat that must be taken care of and serviced properly. The rest of the boat will almost take care of itself with routine cleaning and protection from the elements.

Though no boats hold their value very well, in my opinion the Sea-Pros seem to do relatively well in resale value in the Carolinas. They're made in Newberry, SC (actually two brothers started the company in the 1980s and sold to Brunswick for mega dollars), so the boats seem to be well-known and popular in these parts.

Re: Hello!

Welcome aboard!

I've owned boats for years and just very recently acquired my first jetski; I am now of the opinion that everyone needs at least one boat and one jetski! More of either is preferable!!! Rethink getting rid of the jetflea.;)

Oh BTW: It is customary for members to post pictures of their new boats here on the forum once they are home...
