I picked up a 1999 Fisher V1667 fishing boat/row boat with a 1992 40 h.p oil injected, mercury. We bought it in the middle of 2002 and the boat was brand new and the engine rarely ever used. This boat says it is rated to hold a 40 h.p engine so thats what we put on. After taking it out on the lake numerous times i wanted to open it up, so we did and whenever i try going above half throttle (about 25 mph) it wants to dive down and the hull begins to flop and where the ribs are on the boat begun to split down the middle after a half of year. We called our dealer where we bought the boat from and they said theyd talk to fisher, which they did. So after taking it in and waiting half a year for fisher to figure something out we finally got the boat and we went to pick it up and they welded the ribs back together, put a completly new hull on the boat and put support plates to help take some of the stress off the ribs and hull. We finally take it out on the lake a week ago and it does the same thing the hull is much stronger but it still dives?? can someone please help!?!?
