Help! I need help on 470 outdrive !!

i want to order a kit to change seals , bellows etc in my gimbal housing but parts store has no clue what kit i need. the parts store says it will be decided which kit depending on seal size, then he said it depending ONLY on what my motor is :facepalm: . website says it depends on if i have a bellows exhaust tube or straight.

i dont know who is right?? im looking at these 2 kits http://www.sterndrive.info/sterndriveparts/transom_service_kits.html

i have a straight exhaust tube that doesnt connect like the lower picture but parts guy says according to my housing # thats wrong, but right for my outdrive. im lost!

Ayuh,... What Vintage is it,..??

Is it an MC-1 drive, or Alpha 1 drive...

Bellows or boot is a personal preference more than anything as they're interchangeable...

oh and so the exhaust outlet is preference? so i can make this come out of the outdrive/prop instead of the gimbal housing by switching to the bellows? also, i saw on a youtube video they were using a glue/adhesive in the boots before install, is this a good idea?

sounds like you need a manual for your drive BEFORE you start tearing anything apart

you have the answer in your question

you have a 470 motor

you now know you have an alpha drive

bond-o cleared you up on the exhaust bellows/tube

what other question do you have??
