being that the OP is from florida im surprised he hasnt seen a toad fish before. they are pretty common all around the state. i remember catching them when i was a kid growing up in the panhandle. i have seen them down here in south florida as well.

I don't know what to say. I've never seen one. Most of my fishing growing up was done from the sea wall so I am mostly schooled in pin fish and cat fish.

Now that I have a boat I am trying to broaden my horizons. But I ended up back on the sea wall the day I caught this thing.

Along the Atlantic east coast we call them "Oyster Crackers" they will take a finger off!
