Hello Everyone,

The trim/tilt will not stay in the up position and seems to have a slow internal leak in the hydraulics. I would like to replace the faulty seal but am not sure if there is a write up on how to do it here. I tried searching, but the tilt motors i saw on here don't seem to be the same one i have. Here is i a pic of my tilt/trim motor

Does anyone sell a rebuild kit? Any tips?

Thanks,
Marty

90HP is just on the line of being okay with $90 chinese valve body. If you drive hard - like skiiing or pulling tubes then you may over stress it. Or if you have 25" shaft. But if you drive your 18' in a modest fashion then the chinese VB should go 3-5 years. I'm hesitant to say longer because last year the rubber seals on check valve plug were low grade. So even if you don't stress the soft metal you still have rubber seals that won't last as long. However, they fixed some of the stuff on trim motors from 2011 to 2012. So maybe they fixed some stuff on valve bodies too. I'll probably buy one of the chinese VB this spring just to take it apart and see if its fixed.

If you do buy the new chinese one, send me a PM. I'll buy your old VB. I always need more cores for oem mercury, force, and evinrude.

We are going to be upgrading to a bigger boat next year anyways so i just need something to get me through the summer. probably take the boat out about 10 times. Do you have a link to the Chinese unit?
