help identify old motor

Help!!! Recently bought old outboard, has no ID plate on it, is single 2 1/8 diameter piston 2-cycle w/ egg shaped fuel tank wraped around magneto, pull rope wraps around top of mag and comes off after pulling, is water-cooled, has Eisemann Magneto Corp,Brooklyn,NY w/Model #61-M and Serial #47-B stamped on bottom of magneto, cast iron cylinder body w/#463 on left side and #1881 stamped on right side, # inside lower unit is 63-310 and # 463-3102 on lower unit cover, carborater has cork float w/Tillotson, Toledo, Ohio stamped on top of fuel bowl w/ # AJ16A stamped on side. Appreciate any help in identifing make,year, and horsepower of motor

Hi earlybird,<br />Hope this doesn't sound dumb,but if it is painted what is the orignal color? Does it have a seperate exhast tube going down to the water?<br />...have fun...corm

You have a 1946 3.6hp Firestone outboard motor built by scott-atwater. I know the year from the 46 in 463 on the cast iron power head, i have one exactly like it, same year, and same tillotson carb.

Not sure about his but mine is silver with red Firestone lettering on the font above the throttle, and no there is no tube that goes to the lower unit. both the exaust and water pickup are hollowed path ways in the motors lower unit.
