Sorry for the delay. The hook is 1/4". Does this mean it'll always have that bow down attitude?

Just for comparison - I have a very similar setup - alumacraft 14' 36" wide jon with a built on deck in the front, 6 gal gas tank, a heavy operator, fishing equipment, and 1983 15 hp short shaft johnson. I GPS clocked it at 24+ mph (wot), was skipping across the water and hanging on for dear sweet life, and I still need to fine tune the carb adjustment.

That's the ride I'm lookin for! Sounds like fun! I'm gonna build my own jackplate to get it up higher. I found the aluminium angle locally. I'll get it higher & back about 3". Tilt it up one notch & apply power carefully. I should be gettin at least 24mph with a light load. I only weigh 140 lbs! I won't be stupid with it, but I want to see what I got for my rebuild money & time.
