I Picked up a ESKA 5 HP off of craigslist cheap just trying to figure out some info it. It only has a SN# no model number or anything I got it running it sounds strong will take it out on the water tommarro to test it. If anyone can help the SN # is 460356 that is all the info. I know it is air cooled, has nuteral and forward says 5 HP on the side. Need more info can anyone help?

The best info I can offer, is they are pretty good little engines for what they are and tune up parts can be obtained at the local lawnmower shop.;)

There should be a Tecumseh engine ID tag affixed to one of the crankcase bolts. With the #s on that you should be able to pore over the model # lists at <http://home.earthlink.net/~brixent/> and find a match that will provide basic data and specs including the proper fuel/oil mix. Until then I'd use 24/1 to be sure to not cook it.

See my post # 10 comments in 'Wards 3.5 Sea King Clinton' thread above regarding cooling BEFORE running it.
