Re: Help with 1990 90hp Force controls
Update: Last night I took the boat out on the water for the first test with the new engine/controls/steering. The engine shifted in and out of gear well, the steering felt great (as it should be), and it was pissing water like a champ. I idled around the harbor for a bit and the engine sounded good, though it did seem shake a bit at certain low RPMs. After the engine was warmed up for a bit, I tried to get up on plane but couldn't as the engine was trying to stall on me. I have not done a link n synch yet as I don't have the Tach yet and don't have a portable one so that's next on the list. I checked the throttle linkages arm was fully extended so I don't think it was an issue with the control adjustments. Also, I was able to rev up the engine with the ear muffs on dry land...so it may be having trouble with the prop under load . So my guess is its a fuel delivery problem somewhere in carb system (FYI- I was running off a full portable tank) or maybe its having problem with the prop under load. I hope it just needs the link n synch....will report back after that's done but might be a few days with the storm coming through.
