Hello,
I am looking for some answers with re wiring my boat. I am planning on a 10 circuit blue sea systems fuse panel and 10 contura rocker panel switches.

Couple of questions
I have run 8 gauge marine grade wire from my secondary battery to my console. I am going to connect to the pos and neg terminals on the fuse block. Using heat shrink connectors and adhesive shrink wrap.

Do I run the accessories to the fuse panel and then the fuse panel to switch? I am having a brain fart and cannot wrap my head around it. Can someone chime in and give me some help please.

I have 8 on/off contura switches and 1 on/off/on single pole double throw for the nav/anchor lights and 1 on/off/on double pole double throw for the bilge with automatic switch.

If I run the positive and negative from the accessory directly to the fuse panel then how do I switch these accesories?

Can someone give me some pointers please.

Thanks again

Re: Help with rewiring my boat

One thing you need to explain a little more. You said you are wiring to the "secondary battery". Does this boat have a dual battery switch?? If so, why would you wire directly to the battery rather than the COM terminal of the switch. Without a switch, how does that secondary battery get charged?? Without a switch or ACR, how do you plan to keep that battery charged? There are a couple of generic boat wiring diagrams in the stickies at the top of this forum. Pay attention to the one with the NAV light wiring.

The notion of getting help from internet discussion forums on how to rewire your boat must be tempered with the realization that as soon as you are clear on how it should be done someone will appear to tell you that what has been recommended is all wrong and you need to do it the exactly opposite way. Stick around long enough in this discussion and it will happen.

You keep posting this diagram but nobody can read it as it's too small. There is also no apparent switch or ACR for a dual battery setup. Resize it so it of some use.

I did resize it. The first one is fine it's the secound one that is the problem. Forums wont let me post the one with the swiches. It says that is to large a file. Do you have any ideas to help me post it? Please I would love too be some help.
