Re: HELP!
I had six very painfull back breaking stringers, but thats not the point.

When you put your motor back on, did you seal the bolts really well? I like 3m5200, it seals like crazy. You could be getting some seepage from the bolt holes. That crack could be crazing in the gelcoat. What I would do is grind the crack out and repair it. You may find that the fiberglass underneath is deteriorating. There could be pin holes, you don't know until you expose what is under the crack. Also, check the hull very well, and do not assume any patchjobs that were on the boat are sound. My hull was riddled with horrid patchjobs that I ended up grinding out and redoing.

The worst was a marine tex mess that I took for granted was sound and turned out to have a pinhole that caused a slow leak. I had to grind the whole mess out and do an epoxy/cloth repair to the 8 inch gash the marine tex was hiding. Definately find the leak though, you should not get a single drop of water in that boat unless it rains without the cover that I hope you have, or swimmers dragging water in when they hop back in from a quick swim. I leave my boat in the water all season, and not a single drop makes its way in except for swimmers. I keep it covered when not in use and it stays bone dry in the worst rain storms. Good luck....

BTW Tengals, for whatever reason, I thought I had looked at your rig, but apparently I didn't. That was a fantastic job, well done. That was one thing I didn't stress as much about, was the appearance of my rig. Since it is a fishin' rig, I wasn't as worried, but looking at your rig almost makes me want to address the appearance. Maybe in the fall after it comes out of the water....
