GREAT JOB JAY....you will have a BETTER than NEW boat when you are done, because most mass produced boats do not have that kind of attention to detail in the construction process. And it's a beautiful boat, one you will keep for years, so the time and work investment is well worth it....

WOW is all I can say. The work is amazing. Great job on the transom and good idea with the PVC to the drain.

You made a comment on my stereo project before I read this thread. I had no idea what a compliment that compliment really was. My project pales in comparison to yours.

I really liked that project, and you did a really nice job. I did 12 volt for many years in the 80s before making the jump to home, and you do nice work. I often see some of the nicest work come from true enthusiasts.

Thanks guys for the compliments. I cannot tell you how many times I doubt myself when I doing something, and I run inside to look on the forum to see how others have some it.

Well here is the video from the transom installation. It is almost 20 minutes long, so you are allowed to fast forward through the boring parts.

hey jay, I am curious how stuck that top clamp on the inside of the transom "wing" was. It looked like you were giving it a good dose of pb:D when you were doing the filliting.

good IDEA with the garbord drian. I think I may do that with mine when I finally save up enough money to get started.

Fellow Sea Rayer: Been following your work on your YOU-TUBE site. Been wondering why no recent update, until I read the posts here about your injury. Hope you are doing well!! You are a true inspiration for all; not only for your work on the boat, but for documenting it as well as you have!! Keep up the great work (& don't forget to tip the cameraman!!). Glad to see your transom is in. Take care.

Good Job Jay,

FYI, for Filleting, I like to make my PB just a little thicker. I think it makes it easier but to each his own.
Again Very Nice Job!!!!

Good job on the transom, just shows a couple 'small injuries' can't keep a good man down.

You should write a book when you're done.

Well Jay, after watching your thread from January on, i finally needed to say what a hell of job you are doing!! You sure have a lot of patience to take on a project this large! I have a 215 Wellcraft Eclipse, and i cannot imagine having to do this project also. Your youtube videos are great, and must take a lot of extra time to do that, but it helps tremendously to see and here what you are doing. Keep up the work. Ill be watching till this project gets splashed!

The wings were stuck down really nice. What I was filling was the transition to the hull. There was a big dip right there and I wanted to make it level.

My cameraman is the best, however he talked through alot of that last video and forgot to aim the camera. I have to edit that out. O Well, his is only 10.

I was wondering if I should make it thicker. I have used 1 and a half gallons of cabosil so far.

I would much rather have a TV show :D I hate to type:eek:

I am glad to help out. I was a noob once too, and I decided to make a great journal for anyone looking to do this.

You bet!! I cut out some of the parts you guys would have got a kick out of. My wife and neighbor started giving me crap about something. I just could not leave it in. Gotta keep my street cred.

Trust me. There are times that I winder what the heck and I doing. Then I look at some pictures, and videos from the lake. I soon get over that.

Just watched your transom installation video, good job. There is no other feeling like it when you install the transom, a lot goes thru your mind and it is a real 'rush'. The hard part is over LOL

No doubt the wing was stuck I was wondering if the clamp itsself was stuck to the transom. It looked like you dropped a glob of pb on the plywood spacer then scooped it off. Just cuirous if any one else has stuck stuff to their work that "shouldn't" be.:D

Jay,

Been following along on this project. Great job with the transom. That will surely last a lifetime. Nice video work also. You will be able to market a DIY CD on how to repair/restore fiberglass boats.
