That is an automotive distributor and should not be used on a boat. You need to find a marine distributor.

Your best bet at this point is a Delco EST marine distributor and coil. It works well with the shift interrupt system, has electronic advance and is used by Mercruiser and Volvo for quite a while. Very common on marine engines.
I'll post some more info for you here in a little while.

what is that... a crusader??

why is it that just about every crusader block that i run into up here (massachusettes) has got either an auto carb... and auto distro... auto alternator etc etc etc......

Go to ebasicpower.com, click on search and type in BPIDELCOESTV8 that is the type system you need. Once you get a distributor, I can explain how to hook it up to your shift interrupt system. You must have that, or you won't be able to get it out of gear easily and will end up breaking something.
