I have to admit when he came home at 2.30am drunk and started singing loudly with headphones on (it happened regularly for a while) I found that the best solution was to sneak up on his stereo and suddenly turn the volume to full...<br /><br />Petty revenge? Maybe-but very satisfying.<br /><br />I forgot about the time (last month) when he borrowed a Harley, left it outside unlocked and went down the pub.<br /><br />At 2am I was woken by a clinking noise out front so I looked and saw a shadowy figure bent over the Harley. I ran downstairs, grabbed the baseball bat and ran out front (not a pleasant sight as I was only wearing a towel...)<br /><br />He'd decided to try and lock it up while blind drunk. He nearly ended up a bit dented til he stood up...

Nos,.. I think you should make a friendly gesture to your room mate. I would invest around $500 bucks in an old piece of crap boat and give it to him as a gift. Just tell him to head out to sea and have a ball (no worries mate). Thre's a good chance he won't be back.<br /><br />And please,..don't tell him about i-boats!

I really needed it.<br /><br />You have a really problem with your (ex) friend.<br /><br />Maybe you could ask some friendly 'heavies' to take a visit to him while you and GF are at work. Have them explain to him that they are after YOU and they'll be back in the near future, and if you aren't there they'll punish him for your 'crimes'. Is raising his rent an option? If he doesn't leave of his own accord, this will at least bring your move-out date all that much closer.<br /><br />If you can't (or won't) kick him out, try to "idiot-proof" your house, and perhaps limit some of the things that aggrivate you. <br /><br />Put a spring hinge on the bathroom door to close itself. Even if he doesn't lock it, it won't be open and expose your girlfriend to unpleasant sights.<br /><br />Make it clear to him that you will NOT reimburse him for any bills he pays without consent or proir knowledge. I don't know what you can do about the prior bills without major digging into bank records and payment histories, but no reason to let it continue.

Right... For all you guys that remember this from July, it's finally over.He crossed the line so far it disappeared this morning.<br /><br />At 6.30 this morning I woke up to hear my girlfriend shouting "What the F££&*", looked around to find the housemate from hell sitting NAKED on our bed about 2 feet from my face with his pants around his ankles muttering something about wrapping xmas presents. My reaction wasn't quite as violent as I'd have liked as I'd just woken up, but it wasn't very polite and was very loud. He then gave me a mouthful of abuse-while STILL SITTING THERE, stood up, pulled his pants up and slowly ambled out.<br /><br />5 minutes later he was packing while I stood in the next room with a 6" karabina wrapped around my hand trying very hard to stop myself getting a jail sentence.<br /><br />10 minutes later he'd moved out.<br /><br />I'd already paid him a load of the money he said I owed. He can swing for the rest. The locks will be changed in the morning. The deadbolts are on all the doors from the inside for the night.<br /><br />Am I justified in throwing his stuff out into the street when he's not here? If I see him its gonna get nasty.

Id make a police report about what happened. Also make sure all the windows are locked. When making the report advise the police your concerned about him returning during the night. This may cover your ars just incase something did transpire. <br /><br />Yeeee Haaaawww, Home alone with the wife, you better behave.

Don't pay the guy another dime. At least till you get your billing statements on the accounts he said he paid on. It should be very easy to get the payment history. The I would pay him what I owed and wash my hands of the guy forever.

The way I look at it is if he arbitrarily took your bills and paid them when you asked him not to then you owe him nothing. Evidently, that was his way of earning his keep so to speak and thats the way I would have taken it. Just play dumb, its always worked for me. <br /><br />Be thankful to be rid of him before something worse happened. Seems to me he was starting to expect a little more for his money.
