I was at the Chevron bulk plant yesterday. One of the off shore coastguard vessels were in getting fuel at there marine fuel dock. The plant called in one person for 5 hours to fill 600,000 litter tank. Apparently they just filled up 2 weeks ago. Can you imagine 5 hours and 600,000 litters later to fill you boat tank. Yikes:eek:

If it's around $2.25/gallon (US) that would be around $356,630 USD. Glad that isn't my fuel bill. 42 gallons (159 liters) is more than enough to fill up for me!!

My new boat has a 35gal fuel tank....when I bought the boat I thought it seemed a little small...but after using the boat for several months last summer it amazed me how economical the 350 MAG MPI is on gas!! Very comparable to the consumption that I was seeing out of my 4.3 v6 carbed!!!

Mine holds 100 gallon. I put 70 in it and it lasts me the season. Whats left I use in the snow blower and log splitter thru the winter.

101 gals. I use about 80 gals per off shore trip, probley 6 x's a yr, and inshore trips about 40 gals per trip...approx. 8 x's a yr. some where between 700 - 750 gals per 12 months of fishing and boating.

185 gallons and a typical day of cruising we'll burn 60 to 70 gallons. I'm not much of an anchor boater. I like to ride. :)

My 22 footer has a 75 gallon tank, which will eventually feed a pair of 115hp Mercury outboards.

The 15 footer currently has a 6 gallon portable, but I did buy an 8.7 gallon belowdecks tank that I'll install for use with the 7.5hp Evinrude. Later, that tank will be replaced with something in the 13-18 gallon range when I move up to bigger motors on the little boat.

Re: How big is your boats tank

I have 2 6 gal tanks. Which I used in the old boat (Babcock) and now transfer to the "new to me" Cobia. Last season was the first year using this Cobia boat combo and due to my economic problems and the price of gas I never really got to use it as I wanted. Looking to maybe get me 2 12 gal tanks... not sure yet...

Sea Ray - 26 gallons. Typically only use about 5 gallons unless I go somewhere across the bay. Then all bets are off.
McKee - 2 x 6 gallon tanks. Might go through one playing on the river all day. 3-4 gallons crabbing.
Hydroplane - 3 gallon tank and 1 gallon reserve. I have 1 hour 40 minutes of run time. That reminds me - gotta replace the battery in my watch.:)
I counted up the gas engines the other day - 13 total. Batteries were more than twice that. I gotta thin the herd...too many tractors!:)
