How can you find out what year, with out the serial number?

My engine has the serial number plate missing. Is there any other way to find out what year it is? Do they stamp it anywhere else? I have looked but can't seem to find anything.

how long have u had the motor and we want to know what kind of motor hp and 2 or 4 stroke

Yep..you need to tell us the make. If Yamaha, here is a link with directions...

There is a plate on the port side of the motor with a number sequence. My 2002 F115's are F115TLRA.

look on the head at the top near the top cyclinder on the left side looking at the back of the motor on a round silver looks like a plug should have a date stamped

Nothing like that , does anyone have a pic of the location? Still can't find it
