HI guys. I have a compartment lid that needs replacing. It originally had a seat and cushion over it, but the seat and plywood that it was attached to is rotten. The compartment holds rods (long and skinny lid). My plan is to cut the new lid out of (marine-grade plywood?), and cover with carpet.
My question is this: What material should I use to make the new lid? The other lids are aluminum. That's not an option for me. Can I use a marine-grade plywood and coat with something before I cover with carpet?
Any guidance here would be much appreciated. Kind regards, ac.
