How do I Pull This Prop?

Who would put 2 props on one gearhousing? Huh?

How do I pull the foreward prop? Do I remove this nut? Left or right hand? Do I need a special wrench? You guys do it "backyard"? Do I use any lubricant (PB Blaster) on her beforehand? Do I need a new one after removing this one?

Because it works so much better than one prop. how's that for a reason? Volvo has been using DuoProp drives since the 80's.

Now, as far as your question goes, there is a special tool for removing that prop nut. Would probably help if we knew which drive it's on to help find the proper tool.

Volvo had several DP drives in 03, post a picture of the drive, not just the inside of the prop. They all take different tools, but look similar. The nut has a nyloc section in it. If it's worn out and you can turn the nut all the way on by hand, you need to replace it. PB blaster isn't going to help get the nut loose.

Standard treads, turn CCW to loosen.

I'm trying to have the props repaired and a skeg guard (ordered here, stainless) installed for a friend. Some more photos as requested. I'm learnin'.
