I did the thru the dipstick method this year. When I got done, I removed the drain plug. It didn't even drip. I was amazed. When I took off the oil filter, it did drip, about a cup of oil spilled into the bilge. What about pouring some kind of cleaner in the crankcase to drain any leftover nasties? I haven't tried it, but thought about it. Someone told me once to pour in some kerosene to wash out the interior of the motor and oil pan.
