90 minutes to the cottage, once there i have about a 2 minute drive to where my pontoon is docked, on a 480 acre lake. or about a 1 minute drive to boat landing on 600 acres. with in ten miles must be another dozen lakes.

20 mins to Havre de Grace or Bush River, but I usually keep the boat down at Rock Hall on Harrington Creek, 90 min drive to the weekend cottage.

Panhandle of Nebraska. About 15 miles to the small lake we usually go to and about 50 miles to a bigger lake in Wyoming.

670 miles round trip to the lake house. The boat is kept attached to the truck in the garage ready to go. I just need to throw in the cooler and we are on the water in less than 20 mins. I make 2-3 trips to the lake house a month.

Four stinking hours! When we go it's for a 3-4 day weekend. I keep my boat on a lift during the summer so I don't have to drag it back and fourth.

Man, you guys have it made!

ouch! i think its time to move. lol

takes me probably 15 minutes from hookup to launch. just have to drive down a REALLY steep hill. but the good thing is, i can usually just drop the boat off at the dock and tow the trailer home. this way i dont have to pay for parking :)

Re: How Far are you from the Water?

I'm in Minnesota so there are a lot of lakes. We are 3 blocks to the ramp for the deepest lake in our county which is Hennepin County and the lake is Weaver Lake. It is about a one minute drive then launch to get a quick boating fix. The biggest lake nearby, Lake Minnetonka, is 15 miles away but we haven't tried to tackle it yet since I backed down the ramp and realized halfway down that a minivan won't cut it and had to leave in shame.

My backyard is the water, the pacific ocean to be precise. I can see the mooring buoy from my house, too bad there is no boat on it yet :(

Just over 10 minutes to the Etowah River ramp, of which I can fish the 3 miles between Allatoona Dam, and a small spillover dam.

15 minutes to some ramps on Allatoona. 45 to others (big lake). Most of the ones I fish tourneys out of are 20 - 30 minutes.

25 or so minutes to lake Acworth, which is a nice size electric only lake with some good fish.

50 - 60 minutes to the Georgia side of Weiss.

Just over an hour to the closest ramp on Lanier

Hour to Carters lake, and about 55 minutes to the reregulation lake below Carters.

20 minutes to Aubrey (little privately owned electric only lake).

I am sure there are others within an hour that I am leaving out.

I can't believe most of you guys are that close to the water! Jeez, now I feel kinda crazy driving 4 hours one way but I guess I could tow it down the street and put it in the subdivision pond. I wonder what the neighbors would think?

Re: How Far are you from the Water?

Well Bucky has me beat . . . Although I can launch less than 20 minutes from the house, I have a policy against running around in circles in lakes that amount to no more than a puddle :( I can get to the Pacific in 35 minutes, but our normal routine is 250+ miles each way to Mead, Havasu or the Parker Strip, all on the Colorado River. This weekend we're doing that and staying from Friday to Wednesday, but they are usually 3 - 4 day trips.

I always consider convincing the family that a saltwater boat is the ticket. I'd like that, the boys would too as they love to fish. the Mrs. on the other hand . . . would be cold . . .

QC I agree with you on the local lakes. We did our sea trials on Lake Elsinore and My son and I went to Lake Perris for 1 day mid week so I could teach him how to launch, dock and retrieve. We now work like a well oiled machine and hardly talk durring these maneuvers. The upper end of Lake Mead is well worth the drive 2 times a month.

I'm about 10 miles away from one lake, and 12 miles away from another lake. One lake large and the other lake much smaller. i perfer the smaller lake, as to many bad, and close encounters from the large lake......(jetflys). The ramps are big and clean and well maintained.
