Re: How Fast Does Your Boat Go?

OK so I watched your video, you were not going 65... until the last part. Holey smoke does that boat go. Is that your boat? Nice, next year I will take a video of my boat. I hit 52 on a good day. For the most part most boats go about 35-40, and that's fast for the water. Over 50 is smoken fast... Nice.

In the video at the end I was hitting 68, but the rest of the video I was cruiseing at a nice 46 at 3500rpm. But yes thats my boat. Been doing a total restore on her.

I've seen 48 mph on the GPS with my Cruisers. She might have a little more in her, but I can feel the cash being sucked out my wallet at those speeds. 27-28 is much more comfortable and less expensive.

The sticker in the boat says "unstable over 50 mph" . That's OK, best I've seen is 49.8 GPS. Baja 265 dvx, Carbed 454/385 hp.
Like others, you can literally watch the fuel gauge move south at WOT.

The '94 Cabrio 280 with a single 454 tops out at a good 28'erso trimmed pretty @ 4200.
Needless to say I'm not going anywhere in a hurry.

I've heard that giant sucking sound before. My Formula F206 would run almost 70. And burn a lil under a gallon per minute at wot.

But that was many moons ago. Back when gas was cheap. Relatively ...

56-60 depending on the amount of fuel and passengers.
