If I stay "local" it's anywhere from 100 - 200 miles round trip. When we start tuna fishing (NJ - NC) that figure goes to 300 - 700 miles round trip. Throw in a trip to Montauk or Cape Cod once or twice a year and the miles really pile on.

I walk out my back door and hop in the boat and go......it's floating all the time as I live on Lake Weir in central Florida

Depends on the Lake I choose. I can be in Hartwell total time from house and stopping for fuel in about 25 minutes, it is only 14 miles to closest Ramp. Lake Russell, 33 miles. Lake Oconee, 75 miles, Lake Chatuge, 78 miles.

I just bought a house 3 miles from the lake. Now to just move there and get the boat float-worthy.

Havent had the boat long enough to really give you our favorite spot yet...but we really enjoyed Eufaula! and Everyone is telling me Broken Bow Reservoir, Grand Lake, Texhoma, and Lake Murray along with Eufaula are real winners.

1. 10 Min to Wes Watkins Reservoir
2. 20 min to Lake Thunderbird Ramps
3. 1.5 hrs to Lake Eufaula No 9 Ramp (favorite so far)
4. Little over 2 hrs to Lake Texoma (checking out Memorial Day)
5. 1.5 hrs to Lake of the Arbuckles
6. really I can go on and on...Oklahoma is chalked full of very nice lakes that are within the 2 to 3 hr drive time.

30 minutes to the closest lake but 1:15 to where we slip our boat. Last week it was 6? hours one way to Lake Powell, it was well worth it.

Hows the water at Powell right now?..gotta still be pretty chilly.

I am very lucky, if I want to travel a small river the launch is 3 miles, the next bigger river launch is 7 miles, the bay launch is 5 miles and my favorite river the Nanticoke is the furthest at 32 miles. All these miles are one way.

Four miles to river launch. new, public, $5.00 per day. not very busy, but 15 min. in no wake zone to lake Erie. 5.5 miles to old public launch. very busy, free, on the lake, but all the police, city,sheriff,state patrol, fish and game, coast guard, home land security and boarder patrol. plus the state boys to do an inspection if you don't have a sticker. Not as bad as seems, but you better have all and i mean all your stuff together, there are no options. Use river to start season then the freebie the rest. Just a side note, every officer I've talked to or dealt with have been boater/fisherman, they love the water and their #1 priority is your safety. They are usually high on the seniority list and ask for the assignment and if you come in around their quiting time you'll see them getting their boat ready. lol

The lake is about 2 miles away if I wanted to walk over two ridges. 11 miles to drive to the launch.

2,500 feet. Boat ramp, restaurant, tiki bar, general store. All on one of the few rivers that flow North.

Other than ponds and rivers, I travel an hour to Lake Sinclair or 2 hrs to Savannah.

about fifteen minutes away from 4 different city lakes and about half hour from wurika lake, oklahoma. not huge lakes but good lakes to get on on the weekends. about 4 hours away from grandparents favorite dock at grand lake of the cherokees in oklahoma. I got two girls a 2 year old and 3 month old so its hard to get out as much as I want but im out there when its not to windy.

Some one else asked this same question and I'll respond the same way. About 5 minutes driving backwards to the ramp. It's at the end of our road and just 5 houses away. How often depends on the Three W's, work, weather, wife! All have to be in agreement.

Well, I'll chime in as a iboats newbie. I have to drive about 7 hours to put my boat in the water... Fairbanks to Valdez AK. LOL

I just got a 1979 Reinell 26 foot cabin cruiser. Never seen salt yet. Came up from Idaho. Winter just got way too long for me now.. )

20 minutes to Lake Ontario, 45 minutes to 3 finger lakes, 1.5 hours to 7 finger lakes. Wish it was closer, but any closer to one of them would be further from the rest. We like variety.
