I catch bass, so does my wife. Sometimes I catch the biggest, sometimes she does. We let 'em go. I boat, and catch bass and other fish, but I'm just a fisherman/boater and don't own a Real Bass Boat. rats

My old Jon boat is rigged up for bass fishing - it's about a little as they get at 12 feet though.

I built a platform up in the bow to stand on and fish and also the trolling motor mounts up there.

I had a tall seat mounted on it, but it was pretty unstable when you tried to sit up there, so it's lowered back down to the bench height.

She's even got some trim tabs for getting up and planing out to get to the fish in a hurry.

It doesn't have a lot of the fancy things that the big bass boats have, but it gets me there and back and I have a ton of fun pullin' 'em in on her.

Does that count? :)

Well, Kenny, since your 300hp Starcraft will probably out-run Ray's Tracker, then you ought to count it too. Sorry Ray, just yankin your chain. :D

I own an original 15ft 1980 Kingfisher bass boat, with the bird decals on the hull & stripes that match the dilly tilt trailer and the custom livery on the Evinrude cowling. 70hp outboard electric tilt (not trim) & bow mounted foot control trolling motor. I did replace the original lowrance flasher with an eagle fishmark 320.

This is a "second generation" bass boat - one of the first design with a starboard-side console, front casting deck and built-in livewell. And anchor windlasses on the bow and stern. I call those with stick-steering up front "1st generation".

Re: How many actual Bass Boaters are there here?

Let me get this straight....

A "Bass Boatin" guy hooks into a 50+ inch Musky and decides to terminate the thrill of landing the fish of his lifetime because the species of fish on the other end of his line doesn't compliment the image of his boat ?

Not really quite sure what your criteria of a bass boat is but I have fished some bass tournaments, caught some northern pike, stripers, trout, catfish and walleye from my boat: 2004 Polar 2010 CC w/ Yamaha F150, Minn Kota 74 Riptide w/ autopilot & copilot, Lowrance X18C, Venture tandem bunk trailer.

I have bass rods, trolling rods, and fly rods in my boat. I also use my boat to pull the kids around the lake on a tube.

I couldn't post pictures but will try again if someone can provide simple enough instructions on how to do so.

PS. I have Mike Iaconelli's autograph if it helps !

SInce you are allowing those of us with conversions to play, count me in. I have a '76 Glastron 16' tri-hull that I added a casting deck and trolling motor to the front of. Catches fish just as well as a ne $40k rig and cost tons less :)

1989 Skeeter with a 1992 75HP Mercury. Bought it used from Ex-father in-law. It's only a 15 footer but it runs great.

Re: How many actual Bass Boaters are there here?

Well to me a bass boat is one with a casting deck at the front and rear, well laid out storage compartment for rod and gear, good livewell, bow mount trolling motor, just like the one in the pic. above but it's not just limited to bass fishing only though. Bass boat is fast, low profile, goes in very shallow water and tight places. Fish/Ski combo don't count, those made by Lund (don't count) are primarily walleye fisherman boat of choice and multi-species good for rough water. I own a Nitro 700 LDX dual console, 120 Force, Minkota all terrain trolling motor. While I'm on my boat, I don't care what got hook, you bet ya I'll reel it in and land it.
