How do you all feel as to whether we will get hit again.

I feel it is a matter of when than if.

If you mean terrorist attack, then I think you would be silly to think it won't. No matter what we do to protect ourselves we are always going to be vulnerable. Price of Freedom I suppose.

IMHO though its would happen regardless of which political party is in office.

We are getting hit almost daily. The meaning of jihad is "holy war".
They will hit us at every breach of guard they can find to exploit. And we can't catch every attempt.
When, not if.

Domestic terrorism is much more common, schools, post offices and courtrooms shot up etc. etc. And then there are the Mcveighs among us. But we are so much better at treating the symptom than the disease.

Terrorism is not a movement, nation or people. It is a tactic, and will be with us as long as people are angry and others are afraid. Fear is so very effective in persuading and disabling people. Fear is our weakness much more than borders, airplanes and buildings.

I travelled over the Thanksgiving holiday and was surprised when I was called to the counter and a TSA agent gave me 2 books of matches that were in my checked luggage. Said it was not allowed, but I could have upto 4 books of matches on my person.

While in NY I travelled to Canada and on the way back to the states, spent almost an hour on the Rainbow bridge while cars were searched and some pulled over for a further search. The truckers must have waited almost 2 hous because only 1 went through that I saw in my wait.

Just my recent experinces.

A few months ago a man got on a plane at PDX and flew to Arizona with a 9mm in his carry on, "by accident". They only found it when he tried to get on a connecting flight. These sorts of things happen all over the country with all sorts of weapons.

Someone I know was allowed to bring a SLA battery on board to power their laptop. Can you imagine what you could hide inside a 10lb lead lined box that looks like a battery?

TSA security is no joke...there's more to it than meets the eye...but if you want "impenetrable" you'll have to give up air travel altogether.

Matches aren't allowed in checked baggage because of potential flamable materials in the hold.

Who cares?!? The odds are in your favor. It only matters for the folks on the receiving end, those that actually get blown up or whatever. To everyone else it's just a news worthy story for a few days, then back to life as usual. Hell, it's not like any of us are serious about resolving this global threat.

Yes, I think it is going to happen, it will be bigger and better than before, and it will target Americans ... so yet another reason to play shepard and get the flock outta here ... 'cause those with the power and authority to resolve this problem won't or can't. Hey, if I can't feel safe in my won home in my own country ...

The tactic of terrorism is intended to disrupt and frighten the target population.

As long as the disruption and fright caused by the 9/11 attacks lasts there is no need for further attacks. As soon as we return to complacency. . . BANG!!

Count on the left leaning congress to push for a return to complacency.
