Clinton: Bush Had Urgent Warnings on Al-Qaeda

WASHINGTON � Senior Clinton administration officials called to testify next week before the independent commission investigating the Sept. 11 attacks say they are prepared to detail how they repeatedly warned their Bush administration counterparts in late 2000 that Al Qaeda posed the worst security threat facing the nation � and how the new administration was slow to act.

One official scheduled to testify, Richard A. Clarke, who was President Bill Clinton's counterterrorism coordinator, said in an interview that the warning about the Qaeda threat could not have been made more bluntly to the incoming Bush officials in intelligence briefings that he led.

Tree, I know you most likely won't ever see this, as you have me "ignored",(guess he couldn't take the heat :devil: ) but think of all the thousands of briefings a new President gets, the thousands of details involved in just taking office, the million and one details involved in running this country, and you might get the idea that 9 months into his Presidency, he was still learning his job... not like Clinton who had years to do something, and didn't..... well, besides Monica and his cigars.

There was terrorism prior to the Iraq invasion and there will be terrorism after we win... or lose, it matters not whether our leadership is Democratic or Republican.
No country on earth is tougher on terrorists than Israel, yet they suffer from daily attacks. The underlying problem of Mid-East terrorism lays at he door step of the Arab nations and their oppressive nature of government.
The war against terror will perhaps benefit most if the USA withdraw all financial and military support for these autocratic dictatorships in the Mid-East.

Ohhh now now take heart, terrorism could be ended in less than 1 hour if were really had the stomach, and never show it'

"who was quoting who" would be correct in some circumstances, for example, if the quotation being quoted was "meet the new boss, same as the old boss".
