I read on here nightly for several hours and can?t wait for the opportunity to get started turning my ugly duckling into something I?m proud of. I?m starting to restore my 1974 Mark Twain, it?s going to be in phases as money comes available. First I want to replace the dog house as the one in it is too small and not in very good shape. After debating between an aluminum frame and a wood frame, the choice came down to cost and ease of build.
The dog house will be constructed with a frame of 1X2?s, outside will be sheeted with 3/8? ply, the inside will have ? foam sheeting, then covered with ? ply. So essentially there will be three layers to the dog house. First question is do I need to glass all the joints, or all the joints on the frame, or just the joints on the inside and outside. Second how much epoxy do I need to waterproof 4 sides of a box measuring 28x26? inside and out?
