How much is this boat worth?

I'm looking for a deep-v aluminum for fishing and I found this boat/motor/trailer. This is exactly the hull style/size I want but I think I'd prefer pedestal seats.

a few details:

floor - installed by owner 2 yrs ago, 1/2" plywood, not marine, unfinished, 'no rotting, any soft spots due to thickness'

transom - owner claims ok/unknown

side boards - original/ok

seats - faded, dry rot

motor - 50hp, 'runs good' but he sounded less than enthusiastic about it

trailer - tires ok, inspected last year

accessories - lights, am/fm cassette stereo, bilge pump, 12v outlet, compass w/ light, fish finder

Obviously I'd have to redo the floor. I'd hope to do the seats w/ 'sem color coat' since they don't look torn up.

I guess the big IF is the motor...

Price is 900 "firm"

I've seen several similar boats go for more than twice that (but in better shape w/ a bigger motor). unfortunately those are out of my $ range...

THANKS

I think if she runs and floats and the trailer rolls she would be worth a $1000.00 in just about any condition, if it makes you happy then it's what you feel is fair, and would you get the 900.00 in fun ??? that's the real question, and would your wife go on it as if no she may be worth a little more

good luck

Re: How much is this boat worth?

I would jump on that........ but I am addicted to good aluminum boats ;)

If the deck is weak only due to thickness and poor construction by the PO you might be able to make some quick repairs and fix it.

I will bet the the reason he was less than excited about the 50 is because that is probably the smallest motor that came with the hull and performance suffered.

If you look at many "new" boat packages .... they come with lower power outboards but they do push the boat along.

Ditto Bob's & TD's comments...

I paid 800 for my SC and she looked a LOT (a LOT) worse than that one.
Put I also have Aluminitis!

What's the length of it? It looks like a pretty good size. If it's an 18' or bigger I would say the rig is probably worth $900. However it is a major project. That trailer surely needs some work to be roadworthy and the boat needs to be totally gutted and redone.

It is 18'. I'm comfortable w/, and will enjoy, doing the work on the boat. I'm just looking for market info, since I haven't been looking at this kind of boat for long.

What you said about the trailer worries me a little. I figured if the tires, bearings, jack and coupler are good then I'd just have to paint it. Not sure what kind of work it'd need to be 'roadworthy', or what kind of cost that would entail...

That's the stuff I was referring to. I'm not real mechanical so that stuff is a big deal to me if it needs replacing. If it isn't to you then great!
