I'll be 65 next month. Did my first restoration, a 1980 25' Classic Sportscruiser when I was 59- 62. Used it for 2 seasons and then the keel collapsed from rotted balsa core. I'm now finishing the restoration of a 1986 20' Sunrunner 220SB. I would have been done already but a knee replacement took priority. It all started when I wanted to restore a 1964 Chrysler New Yorker. My wife hated the car, so I talked her into a boat instead. I'm happy and she's still the love of my life. Hy

I'm 47 and have been tinkering on one project or another since my early teens!
Built a few small wooden boats with my brothers help!
Remodeled a few fiberglass boats, one more than once!
Fixed up a few 60's era cars, 67 Mustang, 69 Roadrunner, 67 Ford Fairlane, 68 Torino Fastback, 70 Fastback Torino.
Owned a handful of motorcycles.
I followed in my dad's footsteps I guess, always looking for that next project!

36 and starting my first project, 87 sea ray seville, love the boat, but I have back issues and that is slowing me down. keeping online keeps me motivated

First boat..had for 3 years, been restoring from bare hull up

Are we really smarter as we get older or just tighter with our money??

When we are first born we are logical as we move from logical to intelligent we spend money like drunken sailors because we fail to see the logic in saving. Later in life we regain some of our logical thinking but now we call it experince. This when we realize that we aint as intelligent as we thought, are living a hell of a lot longer and to old to do the kind of work we did to turn a quick buck when we were younger.

I'm 60 and figure this will probably be my last, being done as much for the pleasure of doing it as anything else. Easy to say last one now, but ever come accross something you "just had to have"?

Just turned 50 and there are day's when I feel maybe 60 plus and there are day's when I feel maybe 30ish.I am currently working on a 1972 Starcraft 15 foot tri hull.New bottom gel coat and I can tell you I really dont want to do that again didnt quite turn out as planned.Yellow gel coat bottom an 2/3 up the sides and left the top blue now my boat looks like I am advertising for Napa auto parts lol.Anyway I think the older I get the more time it takes me to make dumb decissions which in turn can be good because I cant remember have the stuff I can come up with.Have a great Day.
