How to drop lower unit

I have the manual for my 1976 Johnson 115


All bolts are out of the lower unit, but I can not figure out how to disconnect the shifter lever.

Does anyone have any pics of the screw or pin that needs to be removed?

Found how to disengage the shifter rod and the pin.

Lower unit is down in order for me to inspect water pump.

i have a 1985 johnson 25 horsepower and i'm trying to drop the lower end, i seem to be having problems, i'm trying to undo the transmission line that's underneath the water intake vents, and is that the right area? to seperate the bottom end?

Sween, you should start your own thread, you will get help quicker, usually. Yes undo the linkage there, be aware of the little shift rod keeper. Note witch way it goes on.

Daviet, i'm not sure how to start my own thread, i'm new to this whole site. i just need to figure out how to drop my lower unit. the linkage that i'm trying to undo has a brass nut and a nut solid on the gear line and will not come apart, tried everything. it's getting to the point where the brass nut is rounding. frusterated.

please help.i have a 1985 25hp johnson trying to drop lower unit to fix problem with water in oil.i have all lower hardware removed so unit is separated alittle in two parts.i believe i have undo linkage under waterintakes and have been trying every thing to get these two nuts apart with no luck.to the point where the brass nut is getting rounded anyadvise on this thanks

putting new gasket in waterpump.got gasket it is made out of paper wondering if this should be a rubber gasket.does gasket go in dry or do i apply something.thanks

It can't be made any simpler than what has been posted to start your own thread. Did you read the other posts ??
