How to lift 90hp force outboard

Going to use chain hoist to lift motor and need to know where the lift point is at cant find anything on the motor anywhere? Thanks'

There are no lift points. Make a lifting ring by screwing an eye into a rather thick steel plate. Drill three holes in the plate to match the holes in the top of the flywheel. If it is pre-Merc, then they take 1/4 X 20 bolts. Post merc might be 5/16 fine thread.

OR: you can wrap rope or strapping around the engine and use it clipped on the hoist.

2 1/2 physically fit men can lift off that 275 pound engine

what about wrapping rope around flywheel and then hoist? is this a bad idea dont want to damage it

There is a special eye hook that you can buy, but this is how I did it.

I lifted a 150 hp Force with the 3 bolts in the flywheel...no problem.
