Re: How to make NASCAR more fun to watch
But it it's not no restrictions, full on racing that's driving the machine and the driver to the limits either.
You realize there has to be rules governing how the cars are built, right? And then the owners and crew chiefs do EVERYTHING they can to build a car that maxes out every piece of the machine within those rules, right? If you answer yes to those two questions then they are absolutely building the fastest machine they can.
And then, you think the drivers don't go full out? Why wouldn't they? We are talking HUGE money, and that's not to mention simple ego and competitive spirit stuff. You must think this is all scripted, and that all of these owners and drivers are simply acting. You can't have it both ways. You can't say it is not "fake" and then say they don't try hard. Weird.
Watch this clip and tell me these two drivers are not "full on racing" and "driving the machine and the driver to the limits" . . . There are other examples, but most say this was the best finish of 2012. The last lap is the focus. And yes, a road course for those who don't think they know how to turn right. BTW, that is the eventual 2012 Champion, Brad Keselowski, that finishes 2nd. His post race interview is worth looking for all by itself. I decided that he was the real deal, after that interview. He had nothing but compliments for Ambrose after. Yes, I know there was oil on the track. So what? They duked it out "to the limits" of their machines, themselves, and the track
