You shouldn't need to cut any glass to install it.

only cut should be if it doesn't have a hole for the drain out you will have to drill a hole for however big your bildge hose fitting needs

I have the same question since I am installing a SECOND bilge pump. Its obvious that you put the exhaust above the water line, and I could vent it right beside the other one... what are the other considerations I am missing?

The bilge pump there already is not mounted at all. Should it be?

Depends ..

If you have a rule pump .. you can clean and 5200/4200 the red Strainer cage to your hull. No screws needed.

Because the pump cage has tabs to clip your pump to you can replace/maintain your pump.

But yes .. you need to secure your pump somehow :) .

Brianis, My boat had a 4"x4" block, about 3/4" thick glassed to the bottom of the hull. Pump was screwed to the block with short screws. This was factory. Install the inspection pie first ofcourse. Shouldn't be that big of a job but might be alittle tight. Good luck man.
PS: just reread YD post, glue the cage to the hull is super easy. sorry, just trying to help:redface:

if i install a inspection pie did the foam insert deals go every so many ft in the boats i can tap the bottom to find the brace but kinda hard because theres glass over the wood dont want to start drilling holes and hit foam every time .

There is no way of knowing if your whole bottom is foam or not ( unless someone here has intimate knowledge of your boat ).

Knocking around with a rubber mallet will help determine if you have stringers/bulkhead at that location .. but not a whole lot of boats have stringers running down the center of the boat.

Got pics :) .
